Depression And Poor Sleep Quality Are Sometimes Present In The Same Person

It Is Caused By The Connection Between Certain Areas Of The Brain

According to a study, the relationship between poor sleep quality and depression can be explained by brain connectivity. These two mental conditions are sometimes present in the same person. 5% of people with depression has also sleep problems, and also there is an increase in the risk of depressive mental conditions in people with insomnia. However, there was not an effective treatment for people with both conditions, because the mechanism that originated it was not completely understood. Researchers found out that the symptoms of poor sleep quality and depression were related to the connection between the areas in the brain associated with short-term memory and the self. They also found that negative emotions are increased in both poor sleep and depressive persons, which causes them to focus too much on negative things and bad thoughts, resulting in a poor quality of sleep.
