Using Deep Breathing To Control Stress, Anxiety And Excess Worrying

Using Deep Breathing To Control Stress, Anxiety And Excess Worrying

It’S Called Pranayama Breathing And Involves Three Phases

Yogic breathing, or Pranayama, can help relieve stress. Even though our body breathes automatically, we can control the speed and how deep we breathe, and also if we breathe through the mouth or nose. While slow breathing activates the parasympathetic response, fast and shallow breathing activates the sympathetic response, related to the release of the hormone cortisol, which is related to stressful situations. Yogic breathing is oriented to controlling stress and has three phases, inhalation, retention and exhalation. Learn how to do it. Click here for more information.
