Resistance Training Can Help Decrease Anxiety    




It Reduces The Shrinkage Of The White Matter In The Brain    




Many studies have related lowering anxiety with exercise, but most have been oriented to aerobic exercise. Recent studies have also shown that resistance training decreases anxiety. One reason for this might be the distraction the exercise causes. Other reason might be linked to the white matter in the brain. Changes in white matter occur with age and are considered to be involved in cognitive and behavioral issues. Resistance training decreases the shrinkage of white matter.
